No need to go out to a expensive restaurant to get a delicious dish of Chicken Alfredo.  This is my daughter’s recipe.  I always request this when I go out to visit.  She spoils me!  The sauce is made from scratch and wins hands down over the store bought stuff.   Now we will share with you!

1 package noodles cooked and drained.

To make the sauce.  1 cup butter, 1 cup heavy cream, 2 cups Parmesan cheese, 2 cloves garlic, salt and pepper to taste.

Saute minced garlic in Tablespoon of olive oil.  Add butter to garlic. Mix.  Add cream to butter, garlic mixture.

Stir to combine.  Add salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese.  Keep stirring as it will thicken up.  Pour over noodles and toss.  Add grilled sliced chicken breast.

Now go enjoy all that rich, yummy goodness.  ENJOY!

Just looking at this Easter Candy makes me happy.  Look at all the bright colors happening in this candy.  Not only does it look great, the taste is delicious.  Another plus is how easy and fast this candy is to make.  Honestly total of 8 minutes and I was finished and walking away.

Ingredients you will need are as follows.  1 package of vanilla candy coating.  I chose yellow but there are so many colors you could make several batches of different colors. I digress, back to ingredients.

Melt candy coating over low heat in a double boiler.  Stir constantly while melting.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Pour melted candy coating onto parchment paper.  Spread to a thin layer.

Immediately sprinkle on the Easter M&M’s and the sprinkles.  Press down lightly into the melted candy coating.

Walk away for couple hours.  Break into pieces.  ENJOY!    I told you it was fast and easy.

Raisin Bread Homemade

Raisin Bread Homemade

Toasted raisin bread is a treat for me.  This all started as a little girl.  When my mom would treat us with this special bread.  Now I make one loaf of raisin bread and use the other half of the dough to make raisin cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.  As they bake, the aroma is out of this world.

Ingredients:  6 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon salt, 2 packages yeast, 2 cups water, 1/4 cup oil, 2 eggs, 1 cup raisins, 1 cup sugar mixed with 4 Tablespoons cinnamon.

In large bowl mix 3 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and yeast.  In saucepan heat water and oil until hot.  Stir water/oil into flour mixture.  Add enough flour to make dough easy to handle.

Turn onto floured board and knead 8 minutes.  Spray large bowl.  Place dough in bowl, cover, let rise one hour.

Grease bread pan and 9×13 pan.

Pour cup raisins into dough and knead in raisins.  Divide dough in half.  Roll out both half of dough to 18×9 rectangular.  Brush with butter.  Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.  For bread roll up and seal edges.  For rolls roll up and cut into 1 inch pieces.  Let both rise for one hour.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. ENJOY!

Caterpillar to Butterfly Kid Craft

Caterpillar to Butterfly Kids Craft
Caterpillar to Butterfly Kids Craft

One rainy afternoon my grandkids were getting stir crazy.  They live in California and are able to play outside almost everyday.  Grandma to the rescue.

We learned how caterpillars turn into butterflies.  Perfect rainy or snow day activity.

Gather up these supplies.

Caterpillar you will need wooden spring loaded clothes pin, 5 medium Pom poms, two goggely eyes, glue.

Spread line of glue down clothespin.  Top with pom poms .  Add glue to eyes and glue to side of a Pom Pom ball.  Caterpillar is born.

Butterfly cut two hearts out for the body.  Use cookie cutter and trace hearts out.  Glue with bottom of hearts touching.  Side by side.  Take a Popsicle stick and let kids color it any color or colors they like.  Glue stick to middle of the hearts.  Cut two lengths of pipe cleaner and curl the end or bend the end.  Glue to top of glue stick on each side.  Glue two eyes on top popsicle stick.

Congratulations your caterpillar has turned into a butterfly.  Kids are happy and can’t wait to show off what they made and learned.  ENJOY!

There can be many, many variations you can add to meet your family’s tastes.  Make a big bowl for a potluck.  Serve this at girls night.  Makes a great dish for the lunchbox.

Apple Cinnamon Dump Cake

Apple Cinnamon Dump Cake
Apple Cinnamon Dump Cake

Back in the 70’s dump cake was all that.  I know some of you are to young to remember way back when.  My mission is to bring back the easy, simple, delicious dump cakes.  One pan and you really do dump or sprinkle all the ingredients.

If you need a really fast dessert for unexpected visitors.  Maybe your family is just craving a dessert.  If you keep on hand a few staples your set.  In half an hour you will be dishing up a great dessert.

Ingredients:  2 cans of apple pie mix ( 2 pint jars canned Apple pie filling), 1 vanilla cake mix (2 cups homemade),  1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup butter.  Easier to use cube butter and cut into slices.

Spray 9x 13 pan.  Pour Apple pie mix into pan.  Spread out evenly.  Spread dry cake mix evenly over pie filling.  Combine sugar and cinnamon.  Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over cake mixture.  Slice butter and space over the top of cake.

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.  Bake for 35 minutes.  Serve with ice cream or whipped topping if desired.  ENJOY!

Crockpot Pork Tenderloin

Crockpot Porktenderloin
Crockpot Pork tenderloin

Heading off to work, or just have a really busy day ahead.  Pull out your crockpot and let it do all the work.  Tender juicy pork tenderloin makes a delicious, hearty, fulfilling meal.  Pair the tenderloin up with my cheddar cheese mash potatoes ( you can find on my blog), add a vegetable and dinner is served.

Bonus!  Cook once and get two meals.  I always have delicious sliced pork tenderloin the first night.  The second night we have pulled pork sandwiches.

This is so simple.   Spray your crockpot with cooking spray.  Place tenderloin with fatty side up in crockpot.  You want all those juices to run down over the meat while cooking, keep it tender and juicy.

Season with salt and pepper.  Pour your favorite bottle of BBQ sauce over the top.  Cover and cook on low all day.  Turn on warm when you return home.  Fifteen minutes before serving.  Place tenderloin on platter to rest before cutting.

To make the pulled BBQ pork sandwiches, take two forkes and shredd the pork.  Add more BBQ sauce and warm in the microwave or oven until heated through.

Cook once, eat twice.  ENJOY!

Crafting Day for Kids

Crafting with Kidsimage

DIY Silly Putty
DIY Silly Putty

Today was all about crafting, making memories and having fun.  We started out by tracing cookie cutters in spring colors, cutting them out and decorating the front door.  We used flowers, bunnies all kind spring cookie cutters.  Taped them to the front door.  We practiced our colors.

Next we made books.  My grandsons love to do this.  Few pages construction paper folded.  We cut pretty flowers out of some old magazines.  We colored and will continue to decorate our books as time goes by.  We practiced cutting, gluing.

Last but not least we made silly putty.  4 tablespoons of water, mixed with 3 tablespoons of borax.  Mix well.  Pour a 4 ounce bottle of white glue into the mixture and add few drops of food coloring.  Mix and mix.  Now get your hands in there and knead away.

Today was a success.  Daddy heard all about our day and praised the boys on what they made.  Go have fun with your kids.  ENJOY!
