No Bake Chocolate Oat Squares

No Bake Chocolate Oat Squares

Who remembers No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies?  I think this was the very first cookie  my daughter ever made.

Now here is a bar version which is just as easy and dare I say faster to whip up.  Gotta love those pan cookie bars.  Come on let’s go make some No Bake Chocolate Oat Squares.

1 1/2 sticks butter softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
3/4 cups chocolate chips
1/3 cup peanut butter

Line an 8×8 baking dish with foil.

In a medium saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar.  Bring to a boil over medium heat.  Boil for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat and let cool.

Combine the peanut butter and chocolate chips, melt in a double boiler or in the microwave.  Stirring to combine and melt together.

Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.

Pour the peanut butter and chocolate mixture on top of the oats.  Spread over the oats evenly.

Pour the rest of the oat mixture over the top of the chocolate, peanut butter mixture.  Spread evenly over the oats.  Press down slightly.

Cool the bars, if you’re in a hurry in the refrigerator. Cut into squares and ENJOY! Multi Cereal Squares
