Q and A

Embracing all things apple and pumpkin.  From apple cider to warm apple crisp and pumpkin bread.  Stockpiling and freezing homemade soups and stews, fall festivals and the final round of canning and preserving for the long winter months.  Watching my girls (chickens) run around enjoying the cooler weather.  Watching the fall colors of the trees and how everything starts to slow down outside.  Weiner roast and bomb fires along with good friends and family.  Watching football and thumbing through my gardening catalogs and designing new garden beds for next spring.  Just a few things I love about the drop in temperature.

What do you love about the cooler weather that will be upon us very soon?

  1. I am Fall obsessed. It’s not just that it’s my birthday, it’s the end of humidity in Chicago, time to go apple picking, football…I love it all.

  2. What I look forward to most when it becomes cooler out is actually wearing different clothes. Where I live it is hot most of the time so when it cools off it’s kind of fun to put on warmer clothes.

  3. I think it’s funny that I love fall as much as I do…I live in Florida, and we don’t even experience a fall. We have two seasons here, summer, and spring. I really love seeing all the fall stuff at the stores, and all the recipes containing fall flavors!

  4. While I love fall, I don’t want summer to be over! That soup sounds amazing, I love making big batches of soup in the cooler weather. Makes the house feel so cozy and I can stock up on lots of frozen meals.

  5. I can’t believe it is time for soups again! The vegetable beef soup would be great with grilled cheese sandwiches. Thanks for the recipe. I will be making this soon as the weather starts getting chilly.

  6. I am like a little kid in fall. It’s my favorite season – I look forward to hoodies, and football, and pumpkins and chili!

  7. That’s a good question … it really made me stop and think. It’s not making soups or stews, because I love them so much I make them year round. I guess I’d have to say taking walks in the woods. My husband and I do that a lot and fall is the best time for it.

  8. Fall is my favorite time of the year because of the cooler weather! I love the cloudy skies, hot cocoa, sweaters, and curling up on the couch with a good book.
