Amish Onion Patties

Amish Onion Patties

This is an old recipe but one that you will add to the recipe file once you have made these.  Making onion rings can be somewhat of a hassle.  All that dipping and re-dipping can get very messy.  Not a problem when you make these Amish Onion Patties.

  1. Where have these onion patties been all my life? They look so much easier than making onion rings! My mom always made squash paddies with grated squash and onions, but I’ve never heard of onion patties before. I’ll have to try them ASAP. Looks so delicious!

  2. I’ve never heard of onion patties before Candy. I had to ask my mother in law about this recipe and she told me she used to make them all the time. She’d forgotten all about them. She promised to make some soon and I can’t wait to try them.

  3. OK that makes my mouth water! I love anything to do with onions and when you make them like this I think I could eat them all in one sitting.

  4. I have not tried making these before but they do look a lot easier than making onion rings. I will have to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing. My husband would love this!

  5. Oh my stars and garters! Onion “rings” I actually made! So dangerously easy and delicious. The men in my family were very happy tonight at dinnertime. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe.
