I used 2×4 blocks cut into different sizes.  You can make your blocks any size you want.
Paint color of your choice
Ribbon cut to go around the blocks.
Scrapbook paper cut to fit front of the block.
Letters cut out to put on the front of the blocks.

I cut and sanded the blocks before painting.  Paint and let dry completely.  Glue on the scrapbook paper and letters.  Embellish with ribbon.

See how simple and easy these blocks are to make.  There are so many different ways and saying to make out of these blocks.  Have fun and enjoy!

If you want to make it even easier and something the kids can do.  Purchase some 3D Christmas stickers.  Have the kids paint their wooden block and have them apply the stickers on the block.  They will have so much fun.
