Let It Snow Wall Hanging

Let It Snow!
Let It Snow!

Spending a saturday morning getting my crafty, creative side motivated was just what I needed to start the weekend.

Making this simple picture frame Let It Snow wall hanging was so much fun and very and I mean very easy to accomplish.  Deciding what colors to use was my toughest decision.  I decided on blue, because I have a dear friend who loves the color blue.  This was a gift for her.  I think it turned out perfect.

Here is what you will need to make your own or give as a gift picture frame wall hanging.

My frame was 27×10.  Choose the size you want to decorate.
Paint color of choice
Ribbon color of choice.
Christmas bulbs.  Choice different sizes, textures and colors.
Any additional decoration you want to use.  I used snowflakes.
Paper of choice (scrapbook etc.) for letters
rubbing alcohol and piece of cloth
burlap cut to the size of the frame
hot glue

Clean the frame with the rubbing alcohol and clean cloth.  This helps the paint adhere to the frame better.  Let dry.

Decide how long you want your ribbon to be and cut to hang the christmas bulbs onto the ribbon.  This isn’t rocket science.  Lay everything on top of your frame until you like the way it looks.  Attach the ribbon holding the bulbs over the glass and back of the frame.  Tape into place.  Glue the snowflakes onto the front of the glass.  Add your lettering.  Secure the frame and back.

Add your large bow at the top to finish off your frame.  TaDa!  You are the proud owner of a beautiful Christmas Decoration.  Unless you decide to give it as a gift.  Plan on making two, just in case.  ENJOY!

PS:  Thank you Shonnie!

  1. I love this idea! It’s very creative, and so open to tailoring it to fit in with any style or color scheme. While this is perfect for the holiday/winter season, I can also see it being adaptable so you can use the frame year round with only simple adjustments to the decorations and wording. So fun and versatile!

  2. During the holiday season, I really love making all kinds of seasonal crafts and home decor items. I really like how you made this. It’s simple but so so pretty. If this was sold at a home decor store, it would cost a lot of money. By making it at home, one can save so much!

  3. I am loving all of these DIY decor ideas I’m seeing all over. I can’t wait to make one of these. Tomorrow when my son goes back to school I’m going to hit up the craft shop!

  4. I love this! Simply and easy but so perfect for the winter. I like that it isnt too Christmas-y so it can stay up in the house into winter past Christmas. Great idea. Thank you for sharing.

  7. Love the look. I’m a burlap girl so this craft really resonated with me. And I love the fact that I have most of the items in the house. already. I have shared on Twitter. Thank you for partying with #blogginggrandmothers.

  8. This is so pretty! My daughter crafts more than I do so I’ll have to show her this. I’m in Texas so it doesn’t snow very often, but it does get chilly at least.

  9. I love craft ideas. I like seeing where the people can come up with because I’m not the most creative but I love to decorate.
